No, you are wrong again, the deficit was intact for the first 5 years of the Clinton/Gore era. It took the Republican Congress 3 years to bring it into balance while Clinton/Gore had predicted it would take 10, no 7. He didn't have a clue. But now he hogs all the credit as if he were responsible. Only fools like you are incapable of comprehending the facts.knc

Most of the bills were run up as a result of the heavy entitlement spending and the high early 80's interest rates the Federal government had to pay to fight the Nixon/Ford/Carter/democrats inflation of the 70's. I remember when CD's were paying 21 percent. Difficult to run a surplus when you're issuing 30 year bonds against that backdrop.
