Its true they've got power back home, but as time goes on, I'm getting more convinced that this pipedream of a global government will never happen. They can't even get Europe organized! Grand schemes like that are subject to socio-economic forces that the planners don't foresee. We'll likely settle into 3 trading blocs with an international arbiter for trade disputes and the UN will remain a forum for poor countries from the southern hemisphere to ventilate.

Or so one hopes. Maybe I'm having my own pie in the sky flight of fancy here. <gg>

Here are a couple of documents that lay out what these people would like to do. This is the Charter for Global Democracy. It's not an official UN document, but it's being presented for consideration. The childish cartoon logo reveals their mindset. <g>

We should keep in mind that as these papers were being written and presented, the UN missions in Sierra Leone and West Timor were collapsing. They're still evacuating out of West Timor this morning.
