Tenchusatsu:
Intel will have to step forward and publish their own DDR spec.
If Rambus claims that Intel spec PC100 memory infringes on it's IP, wouldn't Intel spec DDR most likely face the same problem.

It is starting to look like game, set, match to RMBS for DDR royalties IMO.

If there is no common DDR specification then it will be difficult if not impossible to have interchangeability of DIMMs among these proposed platforms. Where is JEDEC when you need them to actually do something? <LOL>

Tenchusatsu,

Wouldn't an Intel-derived DDR spec be a little too late in the game right now, since AMD and Via are going to be introducing DDR chipsets in the next quarter or two?

There are already five variants of DDR DIMMs proposed, so another one would hardly make any difference.
