800,000 share trade just under 40 appeared to be on the bid, but the way the stock turned up to 40 7/16 looks like it was a Dell buyback.

Kemble,<<<So who is to blame for this? And, surely someone must be held accountable...Has DELL management not completely convinced analysts of their plans? >>>

No one is to be blamed. You have to look at this as an opportunity to sort through this mess and be able to see things clearly before others. That is where the money is to be made.

DELL is right now bigger than Michael Dell. DELL has a life and thrust of its own. The DELL story keeps changing. Market conditions keep changing.

Michael Dell gave life to DELL. He still has the most impact and he still is the only one that can tell the DELL story and have anyone believing it.

Michael Dell is no doubt a very intelligent person having created the DELL business model. But a lot of it has to be luck. He was the right person, at the right time and place, to implement a business model that is completely synergistic with market conditions and trends.

He seems to be a level headed person and maturing quite nicely and has not taken himself too seriously.

If anyone is to be blamed, it has to be with Michael Dell. It is understandable that he can not maintain the intensity into midlife and his ability to clone himself is questionable.

My bet is that he will get a second wind, and the best is yet to come.
