"It is interesting that you have come to the same conclusion as myself about "the longer the better for MSFT's competitors". The overhang of the case will be a problem if it continues on for a couple of years..." I third the above sentiment. + MSFT "dissed" joel klein and the justice lawyers. Joel Klein graduated at the top of his class at Y OR H and chose government and less pay. But less pay doesnt mean less talented. After a few months to reflect on the outcome I think Klein would rather settle than split up msft. He gets credit for the win--no appeals and the win is not attacked by 50% of the population for years to come if he verdict is upheld. Also if it is settled before election day, it helps Gore a bit with a certain segment of voters imo and I never really believed Clinton was enamored with this verdict anyway. Maybe Klein gets to be Attourney General in a Gore administration with a settlement.
