Thank you. This is not a "gotcha." We both agree. I was just trying to establish that it is possible for a newspaper to offer fair and balanced reporting separate from either a right or left slant on its editorial page.

For that point I wish to make my own point: When the term "liberal media" is thrown about, it usually refers to the large-city dailies that typically have a left-leaning editorial slant and the Big Three networks: CBS, ABC and NBC.

Fact: Newspaper readership is declining every year. Fact: The vast majority of mid-size and small newspapers in this country identify themselves more with the Republican Party than with the Democratic Party. Fact: Network TV is on a downward decline in terms of viewership. Cable TV is robbing ABC-NBC-CBS of viewers every month, and the trend shows no signs of abating anytime soon.

Ergo, when the term "liberal media" is thrown about on this board, it symbolizes far less than it used to symbolize.
