kapkan4u:

"A high flying AMD stock that can be sold to build FABs is Intel's biggest nightmare."

Comment: By February, AMD's "spry Athy" will likely have a 500 MHz gap as a cushion in its competition with its primary competitor...If a 500 MHz gap (i.e the widest MHz gap in the history of microprocessors) exists (i.e based upon real retail production quantites)come January, there is absolutely no way that AMD will be able to meet the explosion in demand for its revolutionary Athlon microprocessor based upoon current fab capacity...

Kap-

When is the high flying part going to happen? Given the time needed to build a Fab, do you think that AMD has all the time in the world to wait for its stock to soar?

Kap,

A high flying AMD stock that can be sold to build FABs is Intel's biggest nightmare.

Doesn't Intel own a lot of AMD stock? They can probably keep this from happening.

I completely understand the concern of John Fowler and other Intel longs about this offering.

A high flying AMD stock that can be sold to build FABs is Intel's biggest nightmare.

I am curious. What do you do? Did you ever work for Intel?
