This is a great time for stock buyback for softy. While SC ruling is still pending and stock remains depressed as the world is focussed on the case as opposed to business. There wasn't a moment in recent history where absolute valuations and relative valuations on MSFT are so cheap with respect to impending prospect.

Apparently they don't feel much of a need to expedite the case. They've passed twice now on making a decision.

There had been some speculation that the justices might act today in the
Microsoft antitrust case, in which the court must decide whether to hear
the company's appeal or let the case be heard first by the federal appeals
court here. But there was no word today, although the case is ready for
the justices' action. The next possible date for an order in the Microsoft
case is Sept. 26.
