Dear Ish: I am unfamiliar with the 2001 models but the 2,000 only had one V-8 but its a very good one. Perfectly mated to the transmission and all. I JUST BOUGHT and received a 2001 Wrangler, Sahara Model. Besides all the standard stuff on a Sahara I got the Dana 44 Rear Axle, 30" Tire and Wheel Group, Trak-Lok, Dual top and all. To this I added a 8,000# Warner Winch, two more skid plates (steering box and oil pan) to go with the transfer case and fuel tank skid plates, also a Draw Tight rear trailer hitch. This will be our new Off Road Vehicle. We will use our Grand Cherokee for road trips and I gave our Cherokee to our Son. So the whole family is JEEPING now. I only have 470 miles on the TJ so far but really having a lot of fun with it. JDN
