i really like the semiconductor and networking stocks right now. sure wish there was a clear leader (with a glitch-proof product) in the voice recognition sector as i think that's one of the most important upcoming technologies. i think the next big tech "progress wave" will be prompted by the introduction of the bluetooth technology into a more mobile computing platform. i believe this will be a catalyst for people to upgrade. bandwidth is not improving fast enough and processor speed has surpassed most applications now (win2000 helps in commercial). we are now on the leading edge of that technology and will benefit from a quick commodization of the bluetooth technology. sony's move into the hand held device business should be big this year and will help get this technology into the consumers hands. wireless handsets and messaging devices should also be moving as fast as supply can meet demand. networking companies should be i high demand as carriers build out as fast as they can. all suppliers in these areas should see good growth going forward and should provide plenty of opportunities for making additions to your tech portfolios now. good investing. she

Hi she,

long time.

I am in agreement with your post.

The only change I would request is that Dealer serve in my stead on the committee because I also agree with the nepotistic point.

Thanks for the offer, she_x, but I have no desire to play the role of executioner for a committee. Some of the G&K gang petitioned me to switch that thread to moderated status when SI offered the option, but I declined. Imo, if a thread isn't united sufficiently to repel attacks and strong enough to survive them, there is little reason to safeguard it.

I took the step of modifying the Porch header on 8/30 because I felt the thread was being intentionally damaged by a few disruptive posters. My action was an attempt to highlight the severity of of the situation and initiate a debate that might lead to a consensus. Now that the process has begun I have restored the header to its original condition, and offer my apologies to those who found it restrictive.
