Re: "Don't know[when AMD's second .13u copper fab will be ready], but if recent history is any guide, it will be available when it's needed"

But Dan, it took 3 1/2 years to build the last one. If AMD started another one tomorrow it would still miss the .13u production window, even with a much faster startup time. The answer is AMD probably won't have a second .13u fab.

Lewinsky-Dan - Re: "Those dates are very, very, optimistic for for a company attempting to simultaneously build its first .13 FAB during its first attempt at volume production of copper wafers."

You are truly CLUELESS !

Intel's first 0.13 micron fab (D1C) was COMPLETED over a year ago and their Development Group has been fine tuning their copper process for the past 9 months.

That gives them another 9 months for finalization - getting the yields up to Intel's historically high levels.

Don't know, but if recent history is any guide, it will be available when it's needed"

Good point - AMD won't need it for about 3 or 4 years .
