It will usually take your broker a few days to put the Avaya shares ito your account. Mine takes about 3 days.

I believe it starts trading on a "when issued" basis sometime this week or next. One would have to talk to one's brokers to see whether one would be permitted to sell shares that aren't in the account but are expected after the spinoff.

Normally, it would be difficult to short a stock that hasn't yet issued stock.

Asking for that information here is unlikely to yield an accurate answer which is applicable to a specific investor with an account at a specific broker.

Did it touch 39 today??? I have a low of 39 on both Datek & Fidelity, but my order was not processed. Whaddddd up with tadddddd?
