First, "ideology" is not unimportant. If I think Dubya will take things in a better direction than Gore, than I consider him the better candidate. Second, I think that character matters, and I have had enough with Clinton, and do not want more embarrassment with Gore. That seems to me a sound reason to prefer Dubya. Third, I see no evidence that Gore is, in any other significant respect, way ahead of Dubya. One might make the case that they are much the same, although I do not think so........
