Julius:

I'm becoming very ambivalent right now after Friday's market. Like they say in Holland, "From here on up, it's all downhill."

The thought of tax loss selling and selling to establish profits to offset tax losses enters my mind again - a nasty thought I entertained months ago. Well, proved the point to myself when I suddenly decided to take stock losses early and in bunches last week. Will I decide to lock in profits next month, don't know yet?

I'm clearing out the losers - some down over 50%. Don't want to wait for the funds, institutions and "late" bloomers this year. What collective thought impact that will have on the sectors is beyond me now. Oil and gas still look good for energy. The oil service guys should get a lot of biz at these high prices as the domestics (at least not counting the Internationals) go after new wells and such. What the result of busted stock prices will have on year end retail sales I don't know? Real Estate still looks fine to me but Fido's "fresx" is losing ground against my individual picks of just three positions Gold ought to come back now or die forever.

When you're hot, you're hot but....... Will one be able to buy back in 30 days or before years end at lower prices who knows? I think so.
