HI CLINT!

Had to much wine last nite to make the opening but that opening gap down could be a short term bottom for a counter rally. Waiting for intra day pullback to buy some stuff! Good to know that you feel the same way!
Out of the list of 10 stocks to watch for a turnaround 9 are up and only Amcc slightly down. Put them in my watchlist as "Indicators"

Stefan

Clint,

Good to hear from you.

My COMPX system attempted to generate a buy this morning, but negated itself. It is currently flat. So I am not buying yet.

It looks like 3840 held for now. Most stocks are reacting very weakly though. I will have to run through the option chains tonight to see where most stocks will likley end up to see how much up side there is.

It much be the volatility this year, but my tolerance for it is getting thinner and thinner.

Analysts trying to defend some of the bigger tech stocks:

Hewlett-Packard (HWP) 106 5/8 -4 3/8: SG Cowen reiterates STRONG BUY. Firm does see consumer PC revenue growth slowing from 65% in Q3 to 40% in Q4 but does not believe EPS will be impacted; sees today's selling as overdone and recommends buying on weakness.
Oracle Corp (ORCL) 80 13/16 +1 7/16: Lehman Brothers reiterates BUY rating and price target of $100. Firm expects uncharacteristically strong Q1 beating firm's and consensus estimates of $0.13; firm believes database business is in-line with their estimates but sees significant upside to application license revenue estimates.
JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 105 1/2 +2 5/16: Merrill Lynch reiterates NT ACCUM/LT BUY following yesterday's analyst meeting in Ottawa. The company conveyed two messages: manufacturing capacity is the key to growth and the company's goal is to increase current capacity by 4 times in any given 18 month period; additionally company addressed its efforts in most of its major optical technology efforts, firm feels that the company is dedicated to remain ahead of the curve in almost all areas of optical componentry

Don't know why but bot some GLW at 282. Stop at 277. Nice double bottom on the 15min chart. Hope it will rally back above 290 to establish a trend change. If i read the tape right i think someone is buying here since i see lot's of 5-10k blocks go through mostly at the ask. BUt then again that stock moves so fast it's sometimes all a blur. Let's see! Csco holding here around 60. Still some hope!
