El Compaq displaces Dell as SBC supplier by: asiseeit2 9/13/00 2:48 pm Msg: 182447 of 182449 $250M contract displaces Dell Compaq beat out Dell to win a three-year, $250 million hardware and services contract with SBC. Compaq will supply approximately 90,000 desktop systems (30,000/yr). The deal also includes 3,000 servers for business critical applications. The hardware portion of the contract is valued at $200 million.
