I held through this BS mess. Well now techs are down at their bases, almost all of them. Sure there's the oil price but the values are even better values. I'd start with VZ, UIS and WCOM. Those are three indisputable bargains now. Nio risk in buying them IMHO. But do your own DD.

LU is potentially a $100 stock. Within 12-18 months.
No one can dispute that.

i'll dispute it - why is LU worth 100?

i would tend to agree that ~35 should be support for the short term.

Spirit - first let me say that I own LU, have for some time, but I believe I'll shoot even par over 18 holes golfing before LU hits 100 - and you have not seen me golf - lol.

Seriously, as much as I would like to see LU hit 100 - I see no chance of that happening anytime in the foreseeable future. I know you love value techs - but why are you so optimistic LU? Shoot, if someone would offer to take me out of my shares at 50+ right now I'd jump at it. Where do you see all this hidden value in LU, and how do you see their to date, inept management, unlocking it?

And I know you think just because many of the stocks that have been beaten down or previously warned are low risk, but that doesn't mean they can't fall further - as evidenced by BMCS:

15:33 ET BMC Software (BMCS) 20 -3 1/8 (-13.5%): -- Update -- Briefing.com hearing the BMCS earnings concerns from sources at the CS First Boston. One of the reasons that investors have been quick to accept possibility of a shortfall is that BMCS warned last qtr.

believe me, I probably love a bargain more than most folks, but I still think you need to be very careful in picking and choosing among the so called value tech stocks. Just my 2 cents

Spirt:

We'll disagree on LU. I'd rater put the money in T, WCOM, NT, CSCO than LU at this point. LU has some great franchises but they also are having some fundamental problems like losing business to NT and CSCO.
