A lot of what I think is driving the dollar's strength in recent weeks is the fact the Europeans have had to aggressively purchase scarce oil stocks in order to prepare for winter.... which means that with higher oil prices and the oil denominated in dollars, they put additional pressure on their currency..

And then we combine that with the major multi-billion dollar acquisitions the European companies have been engaging in... more conversion from Euros to Dollars....

And then they face these disturbing economic numbers coming out of Germany, Europe's strongest economy...

Yes.. I think that AG has overdone it and he will have to reverse the interest rate trend in order to prevent things from getting out of hand..

We may see a re-occurence of the Asian Contagion, but in some other form...

And the US dollar is the safest currency around, despite the constant griping about the trade deficit..
