Hi Bill, RE: S and P 500 rebalancing.
I don't know if the shares issued for ETEK takeover by JDSU are included in the current weighting of JDSU in the S and P 500. I suspect they are not. On all sites that I have checked, the market cap appears to be indicated without without ETEK---around over 80 billion. It should be about 100 billion.
I suspect we will get a lot of buying on JDSU out of nowhere.

I saw Brian Finerty talk on JDSU --I believe he attended the analyst meeting(or one his firm's analysts). Talked about how a over 3 hour process for production will be reduced to 15 minutes on certain components. All analysts have been coming out very bullish.

Considering how this stock has sold off and probably a shorting favorite, I think a move up in JDSU can be explosive. I have been waiting a while for it and could happen this or next week. We should see a real run up to earnings on JDSU--like one we have not seen since the Feb/Mar.
