It is unbelievable, 9 months ago, some influential wall streeter's where saying 200 target on MSFT by December of this year. What a change.

JohnD, why do you think they can do anything for the shareholders ? The business model is shifting around them, they have to adapt. The govt wants to break them up, they have to defend at this point. They are caught in a situation from where no one has ever escaped. They cannot do anything for the shareholders at this point. Using up the money for buybacks is foolish in case the stock goes down to 50. It is best to hold the firepower with the hope that some external event will turn around sentiment. Meanwhile, the only thing MSFT can do is build better products to entice the consumers. PR won't help for now!
