Kap,
RE:"Funny, but what if it is true? Then it is scarry for INTC longs. Are you heavy long Jim?"

Yes, I have some Intel.
I should have known better about those guys trashing it when they got back from the Hamptons. GVTucker alluded to them taking Intel off the list but I figured they would hold a little tighter. I was wrong...but they will buy it back. Lot's of selling pressure this time of year...tax loss and all.

RE:"I rode my short from $75 7/16 to $67 7/16. I guessed the top perfectly but covered way too early. Now begging it to go up so that I can short it again. I hear that Intel's Q3 numbers look horrible and they are waiting for a miracle in the last three"

I don't see how Intel could have a bad 3rd...supposedly they are sold out and P-IIIs go for more than Athlons. They still own the high end business stuff. I do wonder how their portfolio managers are doing.

Re: "Funny, but what if it is true[that AMD has 90% yields for Athlons]? Then it is scarry for INTC longs. Are you heavy long Jim?"

Then AMD would have no trouble producing much more than the measly 3.6 Million Athlons they are expecting in Q3 from 2 huge fabs. An embarrassingly poor number. In fact, at 90% yield on that large a die, AMD would have far and away the best yields in the world, except for maybe Intel....

Kumar should read this thread more often.
