AA - you are correct about overall U.S. equity volume being up. I have been tracking NYSE volume, Nasdaq volume and the total of the two for years ...

... both have experienced steadily increasing volume since the very low volumes right after mid-August ... not that I would describe volume as high ... however, it has improved ... (which I guess would be normal right after the vacation season) ...

... not that I think today's volume has much to do tomorrow's price action ...

... as far as individual stock volume is concerned, I do not usually pay too much attention to it ...

... one thing for sure, in my mind, if exchange volumes ramp quickly here, it will not be a good sign for longs ... I see very little chance for a big rally here ... big drop is more likely ...

... just my personal and amateur view, however.
