Doug, if the U.S. public was not willing to commit to the effort needed to win in Viet Nam there is no way they would support a war against China over Taiwan. A conventional ( non -nuclear) war would likely cost too many lives and may require the draft - who would go if drafted? why go ? you can dodge the draft and still become president. I would strongly oppose spilling US blood over Taiwan. Mike
