And oil? It's an interesting bit of political play, in my view.

Clearly, the Saudis and US oil cos hold the upper hand. Big Oil's boy, Dubya... and they know putting the squeeze on the economy might help him get elected.

And we worry about minor mkt manipulation!

I was wondering if I was the only one who found this peculiar. Stocks feel like someone locked the SHORT spigot...the oil guys? Where's Oliver's Stone.

You really think that the U.S. election is being manipulated by the Saudis and U.S. Oil Companies so that Bush will get elected? That's the first I've heard that view.

As for "minor market manipulation", it is not minor if it is your money being manipulated. And we may not be able to fight the Saudis from our dens, bedrooms and home offices. . . but we can surely fight the Powers that Be when it comes to the markets. And I am beginning to tire of those who say we should just roll over and take it. . .and "learn to play the game" as it is. I don't like playing games where the rules are changed mid-stream in favor of my opponent.

We saw this weekend in an earlier post where we Individual Investors are about to lose another advantage. By not standing up, contacting the SEC and fighting for our rights, we may lose the edge of ECNs. What's next? Going back to 15-minute delayed quotes?

Yes, I'll worry about every nickle of mine that is manipulated. Over the past year, we've developed some effective tactical weapons which have yet to be unveiled. Accurately calling these markets over the past year and half has been EXTREMELY effective in keeping us in the game. [We should never forget how many traders were cashed out this year!] And as the Po' Boys continue to unfurl their new rules and methods of taking more and more of our money. . . we must stay vigilant in our quest to beat them at their game. . . using WHATEVER it takes [that is legal]. . .and calling EVERY scam that they throw at us. . . .letting them sneak NOTHING by us.

The bottom line is this: If we allow the market manipulation to go unchecked until it gets so bad that we stop making money altogether with our trading/investing, then "game over" and we all lose. I don't plan on ever seeing that happen. . . which is why I refuse to sit on my hands, turn the other cheek and just let them take my money.

Our vote may not count for much on November 7. But our voice in Washington and diligence in our fight could keep us in the money game.

Best wishes,

Rande Is
