KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2000-- InterDigital Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:IDCC -
news) announced today that the Special Master issued his Final Report and Recommendation on Claim Construction in

Corporation (ITC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of InterDigital Communications Corp. In the Final Report and Recommendation, the Special Master provided his
Recommended Construction of certain terms of the patent claims in the case. The construction of claims is part of the legal process leading up to a patent

the arguments made by the parties at the Markman Hearing in April 2000. We are continuing our preparation for trial.''

In the Final Report and Recommendation, the Special Master agreed with InterDigital on a number of claim construction issues, and agreed with Ericsson on certain
others.
As part of the routine legal process of preserving its right to appeal, InterDigital will file objections to portions of the Special Master's Final Report and
Recommendation within due course. Although the court has not scheduled a specific time, InterDigital expects the case to be docketed for trial some time in the

Recommendation is posted in the Press Room section of the Company's website, www.interdigital.com.

This press release contains a forward-looking statement regarding InterDigital's current expectation as to the timing of the Ericsson trial and is subject to risks and
uncertainties. Actual outcomes could differ materially from those expressed in such forward-looking statement due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
the timing of the Judge's decision to accept, modify or reject the Special Master's Final Report, the timing of subsequent procedural matters, and the Judge's
discretion to assign the date. InterDigital undertakes no duty to publicly update any forward-looking statements, whether as a result of new information, future events
or otherwise.

I guess this explains why the stock price continues it's
decline. Dead money here until mid 2001, then a lengthy trail.

the Special Master agreed with InterDigital on a number of claim construction issues, and agreed with Ericsson
on certain others.

I suppose this nixes an out of court settlement that entirely favors IDCC. If this goes to trial, and if ERICY loses, will we see an appeal? Of course we will

Does anyone see this being resolved before 2005?
