RESEARCH ALERT- Amazon price target raised to $60
CHICAGO, Sept 18 (Reuters) - ABN-AMRO analyst Kevin Silverman said on Monday he raised his 12-month price target on online retailer Amazon.com Inc. (NasdaqNM:AMZN - news) to $60 from $50, and reiterated his buy rating.

-- said price target change reflects incremental value in European retail, on-line brokerage and online travel.

-- said Seattle-based Amazon.com might announce another strategic category and blue-chip partner.

-- said upcoming analyst meeting on Sept. 19 is likely to have a positive effect in preparation of the holiday season.

-- said he thinks the company is going to outperform in the short term.

Shares of Amazon.com traded at up 1/8 at $43-1/2 in morning trade on the Nasdaq.
