Scumbria

Though your response wasn't directed to me, I thought I'd respond.

OK, I'm very impressed with the gentleman's credentials - My concerns re. Los Alamos (lost/stolen "secrets", lost hard disks, lousy security, etc.) are put to rest.

I'm still kind of nervous about the existence of our energy "policy" though...

Regards,
JohnD - sorry, I just couldn't resist~ :)

Scumbria,

Of course we have to consider that it's coming from a guy who said Gore had the best person in government in knowledge of issues involving technology. I guess his sub-par grades from science related subjects while at college show that he was bored with the low level stuff such as calculus. Or could it be that he just couldn't talk his way out of these subjects?

As far as Richardson is concerned, I think he is a good "fire-fighter". The Clinton administration uses him to put out fires (policy based, not personal). He can talk a good game, I admit that.

I don't know how much ability there is behind the words. I haven't seen evidence of any. But I have to say I haven't paid much attention to goings on at the Energy Department (UN is a lost cause). The only thing that made the news was the security scandal and the spike in energy prices.

Joe

Re:Bill Richardson has quite of bit of experience with energy and security issues...

It was pretty awful watching some of the strutting little congressmen pummel him on CSPAN early in the lost hard drives episode.

Regards,

Dan
