Hi Shalom. I agree that; "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
But other scriptures are just as clear if not more so that;
"37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day".

"44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." (JOHN 6:)

Since as Christians we believe that All scripture is God breathed and does not therefore contradict itself we must strive to understand how these seemingly divergent statements can be reconciled. Would you agree with that statement?

Here is the problem as I see it, maybe you can help me out.
FIRST; "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him"Jn 6:44 This verse seems to me to say that it is not possible for any person to come to Jesus unless they are first drawn to Him by the God the Father. Do you think that is an accurate interpretation of that Scripture? If so then that brings me to the next point.
SECOND; "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me;"( Jn 6:37) and in 39 "all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day" These verses seems to indicate that everybody that is drawn to the Son by the Father will in fact come to Him, receive everlasting life and be raised up the last day.
FINALLY; If no one can come unless they are drawn, and all who are drawn do in fact come and receive eternal life then how do you explain the fact that the Bible teaches elsewhere that not everybody will be saved? It seems to me that there are only two choices either you must believe in universalism or you must accept that God does not draw every person to the Son in exactly the same way. In other words some people receive saving Grace and the rest receive justice. I do not see that God is obligated to extend His grace to any of us all that is required is that God be just in accordance with His nature and character. In His infinite mercy He has chosen to save some (not all) and He chose them before the foundation of the world not based on anything in us but just because in His infinite mercy he wanted to. The reason that God is able to save whom He chooses is that His justice has been satisfied (propitiated) through the substitutionary death of His sinless Son Jesus Christ on the cross.
So again I say if it is truly Gods will that everybody would be saved then they would be since no one is able to thwart His will. Therefore I conclude that the Scriptures that you quoted must not mean what they seem to say on the surface or else we have a God who is not able to do what He wants to do. Is that your position?
I look forward to hearing from you, have a blessed day;
Greg
