Do you really think that Hitachi agreed to pay Rambus 5% royalties on SH microprocessors?

They're certainly paying something. The SH microprocessors were included in the original lawsuit as infringing products (which is another reason why Sega was included as well). Do you think Rambus accepted a settlement without including them?

If it interfaces to SDRAM, yes. And not all SH are microprocessors. Some in the family are microcontrollers.

Everything that interfaces to SDRAM pays royalties.
