A password is one thing, but you might want to strongly consider adding a firewall to your home network.

Just having a password doesn't hide the fact that you have computers sharing their resources. It might offer someone a challenge, which isn't a good thing.

Either a software solutions such as BlackICE, or ZoneAlarm, or s hardware based solution such as a Linksys cable/DSL modem router.

Heck, an OpenBSD box running on a old pentium would do the job as well. :)

Here's a little report on Win Me. Just bought new HP PIII 600 laptop 3 days ago with Me OEM. Runs fast, boots fast. I can't stand the little reminders that Das Gates throws in. All of a sudden it wants to show you a video on the new features and there is no way to stop it. A reminder pops up for Win Update when you're working on something else and you're supposed to stop what you're doing and play with the PC. Other than that, the experience is OK so far.

Just wish Das Gates would get the hell of of the way. Can you imagine a Beanie Baby starting a commercial for Toys R Us all of a sudden. No wonder these guys have lawsuits up the ying-yang!
