For the sake of the thread (and me as well!), the Canon EOS digital D30 is reviewed here...

The sticker price is around $2400.00, which is cheap compared to other professional digital SLR's. I don't know when it will be ready for release in the US. Perhaps the Canon US Headquarters could give you and idea.

Right now manufacturers are making a killing on point-and-shoot digitals with factory-installed planned obsolescence. I would be interested in a Canon EOS digital Elan or Rebel for about $499.00 and at least 5 megapixel resolution, but it may be a few years before we see one.
