The company also said its Sprint PCS ... wireless unit won't add as many customers as expected. Sprint said the PCS unit will add 800,000 net new subscribers.

This is versus 900,000 net new subscribers per plan. Also, laid blame on cutting off more non-paying customers and increased competition.

Who are our resident experts on subscriber numbers? Can they say how 800,000 net fits? Also, since QCOM benefits from the gross new subscribers and is not penalized for subscribers dropped, the gross adds are the more important number. Guess we find out this number on Oct 17.
