Bernard: SS7 IS an integral part of the network, It is the critical piece of the puzzle for wireline, and wireless to work in a truly global harmony...you want one phone number to locate you by in your travels from USA to Mongolia? No problem..if you are SS7 compliant. Tekelec provides test equipment to companies using this protocol so future progress can happen.

Let's go back to when it was $6, why was it at that price (other than a temporary meltdown)? It was because Margolis said they have great technology (and they do), but were still a few years away from mass deployment of these new services.

That said, you are missing my point. No company is an island. If the CLEC's and RBOC's are slow paying their bills, it's like taking a spoke out of the wheel....the whole wheel goes lopsided.

OTOH: Sounds like someone missed their chance to sell at $60.
