Hi chic_hearne; My guess is that Intel will keep volumes low. Why make chipsets if there isn't any memory to hook up to them?

chic, the funny thing about rdram prices, 2 of the 3 places on pricewatch that are selling pc800 128m RIMMS for significantly less than $300 are also selling closeout vc820 boards for $75 or less. Maybe they got some kind of deal with Intel (or Dell?) to help them liquidate?

Cheers, Dan.

What do you think they will do, ramp P4 hard and send DRDRAM prices through the roof, or go low volume so prices remain respectable?

evil thought...Intel has been stockpiling RDRAM to counterbalance a rise in spot prices <g>

put the liquidated gains in Micron stock to actual good use.
