Thread Not sure exactly why we've gone moderated. The regular PMCS thread was not exactly awash with abuse. That said, I don't really object to a moderated thread if the majority prefer, and effective, polite discussion is the result. I've been in PMCS since 97 so I'm obviously happy. I do have a question for the more knowledgeable folks given I've been away from things a fair bit this year. So... has PMCS adequately addressed the ongoing move into optical networking? My understanding is that PMCS has historically been SONET/ATM biased which hasn't hurt them so far. What about the future however. Is PMCS in a good position to sell to the Sycamores, Corvis etc? If not, are there warning signs that we should be on the lookout for? Looking forward to being educated. Thanks in advance.

Dave, Jerry, Fred, Steve, Welcome! I don't intend to make too many policing decisions myself. I'd prefer a group effort on this, so please feel free to help keep this place orderly. Unfortunately there is a bit of a problem with my first attempt to play policeman. Sometimes there is more than one person with the same alias. It'll be a couple of days before SI can address this.
