Mike Riccio summary.......

biggest thing was an opportunity to here from Eric Zocher....he discussed go2net's work with interactive tvs...go2net is developing a basic method called "advanced television enhancement form" this is a method that puts an embedded signal in the tv signal which then allows you to interact...used a demo of a baseball game where the viewer is presented with a link and then can buy baseball gear....the input device is either a wireless keyboard or a softtouch screen....integrated into the system is one click buying with a ewallet.

Other good point noted by Mr Riccio who is known as "Shortie" was that go2net can sell this not only to broadband carriers but directly to broadcast source people. Looking forward expect release of broadband pc application with charter and rcn in forth quarter and interactive tv next year.

Finally it was noted that Bryan B new job was audiovisual specialist at meetings

Well CF there still seems to be a difference of opinion regarding whether this is a merger or an acquisition

The infospace investor page just put up news about the pending closing date for the "ACQUISITION" of Go2net

infospace.com

while the events calendar over at GNET says the shareholder meeting to approve the "MERGER" ....

go2net.com

So I know this is not suppose to be important but it is to me and I bet others who have worked for Go2net ....a simple positive statement showing respect for the Go2net team could be made here but instead we have this little slip...sure it will be said it was an oversight and some might not care...but we are talking about two companies with diverse and very different cultural makeups so its easy for folks to be nervous. Certainly there must be many folks at Go2net who are a bit uptight about the merger and some wondering if their jobs are secure ...so here is a chance to alley those fears but it is missed ...one word chance says WELCOME ABOARD...there is still time so someone please change it.
