<<Can you elaborate in detail as to how they are the two BIGGEST reasons for the soaring price of oil? >>

One of the things that has boosted gas prices is the reformulated gasoline the administration has forced on us. The worst part is some is reformulated with MTBE which only cuts pollution until the engine is warmed up. MTBE doesn't break down and actually poisons water supplies.

Another is VP Gore's tie breaking vote to push through HIGHER gasoline taxes.

People are carping about Cheney's ties to Halliburton. Halliburton is an oil service business and sells and maintains equipment and doesn't sell a drop of oil. OTOH Gore has a large share of Occidental Petrolium which does does pump and sell crude oil.

Laws of supply and demand> Clinton and Gore are responsible for gasoline tax, restrictions on offshore drilling (lessens supply) and reformulated gasoline in the Midwest
(further restricted supply). With the world wide economy
booming, the demand for energy has risen accordingly.
If Gore had his way completely, the cost of a gallon of gas would be in line with what they pay in Europe. (I belive the UK is about 5.00 per gallon).
