John,

After looking at the ton of info out there, I am mostly convinced that Intel's revenue shortfall is company specific. However I will be completely convinced on the day AMD reports its Q3 earnings and indicates that it made its quarter. <g>

Nonetheless the failure of the markets to react to Intel's preannouncement more strongly coupled with some of the analysts' comments and the reiterations by the boxmakers has been pretty strong affirmation for me that my take is probably right.

Having said that, I have to say that I am surprised at how sanguine most Intel posters are over the matter. At the mod thread, several are up in arms over the fact that AMD has failed to reiterate this AM in spite of the fact it has done so several times over the last month. They are getting ready to call for Sanders' head.....and that's even with AMD looking like it is on track to make its quarter. Therefore, it seems to me that a similar response on the Intel should be expected. After all, for a year now, Intel's management has deliver poorly on several levels. Why are the investors not holding management accountable? Certainly, if the Board of Directors are not taking steps to go after management, then investors need to be the catalyst.

Curious as to what you think re this matter. I think you know me well enough to know that my intent is not to flame but rather to understand the apparent apathy over at the Intel thread.
