Ted,

I think I see both sides.

On the one hand, Intel has not performed to the level of excellence (and their historical performance has been excellent) over the last 1 1/2 to 3 years. I don't have to detail the screw ups, you know them better than I do. I am confident that there are not too many Intel investors that don't understand that there is something wrong at Intel, relative to where they have been in the past. I'm trying to speak for the average Intel investor, I think I'm a little more critical than most.

On the other side. Most of these folks have held Intel for five to fifteen years, and have a cost basis under $10. When you are looking from a longer term perspective, a two to four cent miss in one quarter is not all that significant. Many Intel investors are probably thinking "where is technology going to be in five years, and what part will Intel play in that picture". They are also thinking, "did this earnings miss signal the ultimate decline of this company, or is this a singular event?". I think most people, sitting on a 400% to 1000% profits, will give Intel the benefit of the doubt.

As far as Intel investors asking for more detailed guidance, we know it's not going to happen. That's Intel, you can buy it or sell it, but you are not going to change their secretive culture.

You didn't ask for my personal opinion, and I thank you for that. Trying to generalize the opinions of Intel investors is difficult, that's my best effort.

John
