What should I do?

Using Netscape would solve that problem.

I noticed the same thing as you when I used IE (which I do only rarely) and didn't like it a bit. I don't know if IE recognizes the site and auto-fills those fields or if it's some IE-specific thing we're doing.

Given the difficulty I would expect with doing that on our end, I'd be inclined to bet my money that it's an IE thing. Helpful cusses that MSFT are.

Anyone else have any further info on this?

Bob

Oh, just go buy another computer, for visitors<g>

I do not want my username and password to be automatically available to someone that happens to be using my computer.

FWIW, I am using IE right now and have to type my name and pass wrod each time I log in. Just tried it.

Delete everything in your Temporary Internet Files folder under the Windows folder, try that, and then try again.

It's just a guess as I don't use IE, I use Netscape.

TLC-

That's a feature of IE 5. You can disable it. Go to Tools (should be a pulldown at the top of any IE page you're on). Choose Internet Options. Click the content tab. Under Personal Information, click AutoComplete. CLick on that and uncheck all of the boxes.

IE5 is defaulted to use autocomplete unless you uncheck those boxes... it's not an SI thing, it should happen on other sites too where you fill in forms.

I think that is a part of Win. 98 as it remembers your usernames until you clear out your history folders.
You may be able to go to your history folder and type in the box that says "number of days to keep history files" and simply put in 0. That may work but I am not sure.

Interesting MS products are default "leave the door wide open" basically insecure, you have to plug potential security hazzards yourself. Other programs that make security a priority, default everything locked down.
