RE:"I will never touch AMD again if they f*ck this up. I've already detailed my dislike of their PR many times, here's their chance to make it up."

I agree... AMD needs to feed the wire services tomorrow after I really load up with more AMD....
They need to say something to the effect that Dresden is a Euro country and all is well. Big time...

chic, here's what I sent Toni:
toni.beckham@AMD.com

I'm assuming AMD is going to make a press release tomorrow to clear up confusion caused by Intel's pre-announcement of weaker revenues, especially in Europe, and lower operating margins which implies lower selling prices.

In this press release AMD should emphasize that
1)overall sales are still expected to grow 10-12% (or whatever) for both microprocessors and flash memory
2)Sales in Europe are particularly strong and expected to grow xx%
3)Average selling prices of AMD microprocessors are continuing to rise
4)Gross margins are expected to rise from 2nd quarter levels

Except for the "10-12%" (maybe its 9-11 or 8-10, but its better than Intel's 4-5%), as I said, except for this number, this statement would be pretty vague
BUT
It would emphasize that AMD is experiencing STRENGTH in the very areas that Intel is experiencing weakness -- Euro sales, total sales and margins.

In other words, it says that AMD is profiting from Intel's weakness, without actually mentioning Intel by name.

Expecting to get a margin call tomorrow, but if you make a statement like this, AMD should recover quick enough for me to avoid robbing the cookie jar.

"I will never touch AMD again if they f*ck this up. "

It must be so demoralising for AMD people to read this board, finding shit like this when they actually made progress gaining market share (or whatever is going on, it is not the fault of AMD). There is plenty of bullshitters and pityful losers! I am loaded with options but I don't cry because I've overinvested myself.
