Cool-- a Kiwi!

In all honestly, the American Libertarian Party was formed by mainly Republicans who felt betrayed by Nixon's drug policy.

Another moniker is that: "A Libertarian is a Republican who smokes pot." Maybe in 1972, but not anymore.

How big is the Libertarian Party in NZ?

Having been in Costa Rica quite a few times, I like seeing the Party Liberto stuff all over that blessed little country.

Welcome aboard...

"Typical thinking would be that Libertarians are weird anarchists or something.

Yes, anarchists is another, though less common than the republicrat in drag thinking. Republicrats are well known for their anarchistic tendencies, no? Another that I hear less frequently is "you support that Lyndon LaRouche guy?". Of course Lyndon LaRouche calls himself a demopublican. He really should call himself a nutcake.

"to the Libertarians who would spend none of the country's money [working from donations].

Of course that's inaccurate. Excise taxes and import tariffs are not donations. The country ran well for more than 130 years in this fashion.

Barb
