True. I suppose I really meant the New Zealand purist Libertarianz attitude would be one of donations. I have no idea what USA Libertarian ideas are.

Of course that's inaccurate. Excise taxes and import tariffs are not donations. The country ran well for more than 130 years in this fashion.

In some ways tariffs are worse then income taxes (although they at least have the advantage of not makeing you reveal a large amount of information about yourself to the government).
