Current mean estimate for this quarter (according to WSJ briefing book) is $0.41. Last year for this quarter, Intel earned $0.28. Even if this announcement shaves off 3 cents off the earnings (meaning earnings come in at $0.38), Intel will grow earnings over 35%.

Lets look at top line growth. Last year for the Sep quarter, revenues were 7.3 billion. Even with the announced shortfall, at 8.6-8.7 billion, that is 17-19% top line growth.

Is that so bad? I know the street was expecting perfection (or more) but still...
