The big question is whether the panic will spread beyond tech or will money simply move out of tech. Either way today's action should greatly diminish the odds of a near term crash, unless today IS the crash.

There is still a heck of a lot of fund money sitting on the sidelines. Have been hearing a lot of fund managers on CNBC saying they are sitting on uncomfortably large amounts of cash. They have been waiting for a day like today is shaping up to be.

The only technology analyst who is worth anything is getting kudos on CNBC this morning. Hats off to Ashok Kumar for once again calling it right.

Instinet appears overloaded. Yahoo's "Real time ECN" feature VERY sick at the moment, showing INTC up 47 1/4 and MSFT at 0

European markets opening decidedly in the red. Should be a wild day once our opening bell sounds.

Stay tuned.
