Bambs,

Indeed the PC sector has been "marked for banishment" for while now. The simple facts of penetration, and commodity like treatment are coming to roost. However, I don't believe that the build out of the communications infrastructure is in any danger of slowing. The service providers still need to create differentiated service in order to compete and need to get more bandwidth to homes and business to deliver these services. For enterprises, they need to cost reduce in order to get a cost advantage over their competitors and will use the internet and b2b software and systems to accomplish this goal.

The bottom line is that this is a sector/stock pickers market. THe mistake is assuming that something wrong with one tech sector means the entire tech market is going to slow down. I believe those that make such an assumption (and many do) will miss a big opportunity.

Well to me at least there is no real solid evidence that the bull market is over.

The markets are at a big inflection point now and with the concerted effort of the international currency markets being propped up this morning I think we have seen the "floor" in the Euro.

There are more reasons to start cutting interest rates now and I'm guessing that will start to happen early next year. It's obvious that with oil prices this high and oil inventories so low historically going into winter that we will see world economies slow down even more.

Bear markets don't start in this climate, not on the cusp of interest rate cuts.

JMHO

Eric

Big Cap tech is dead money with nothing but
risk. You get the chance for small gains but you could wake up with a 20-25% loss any morning.

Actually the opposite as buying opportunities at more reasonable valuations are created. INTC #'s do not indicate disaster. Just means market was expecting perfection from them. Even when csco falter in two quarters as you predict, stock might drop 20% from the then current price of 120. This is what you keep missing. My fault is not being able to pick up for certain when these stocks are due for a fall. Thats why i am in for the long term and do fully expect to make money over the long term. You can make the money on the short term ups and downs.
