bp - I'm sure there's a formula for calculating how many points INTC is taking off the NAZ and the DJI. I don't know what it is, but I think I remember seeing something on Bloomberg years ago show the DOW and how many points each component was contributing. If I hear anything on the radio etc I'll post - sometimes they say that "INTC is contributing 99 points to the Nasdaq decline" (made that number up)...

I just think it might be interesting to exclude the point drop from INTC to see what the charts look like then... Might paint a very different picture.

bp, as of 9/21, this is the weighting within the NDX for intc...

Intel Corporation INTC 6.63%. Given that, INTC accounted for 246.5 points of the 3718 total this morning. Since INTC is down 20.7% right now, it is accounting for about 51 out of the 103 point drop in the NDX, or about 1/2.

please correct me if I am wrong...
