Jim: Having a degree in Political Science myself and knowing a bit about politics.. Bush and Cheny got completely outmaneuvered on the oil thing as far as I am concerned... Gore playing up the fact that some people might face a cold winter without lower gas prices was brilliant.. it conveyed urgency to tap into the reserve.. consumers hate high gas prices.. so this idea is an instant winner... and Cheney/Bush come across as trying to defend the big oil companies (and being in their house.. since they both formerly ran oil companies or helped to if I am not mistaken) Gore is going to kill Bush in the debates. Barring any other major screwups.. he should win the election by double digits.. I'll say 10% and be generous to Bush. Bob Dole is/was a more worthy and smarter candidate then Bush will ever be.. thankfully.. America seems to be regaining its senses and seeing that.
