JC: tsk tsk.. of course not.. I'm not so shallow.. I want a US president in that is sensitive to Canada's interests (ie maintaining smooth trade and making sure a Protectionist Congress doesnt interfere for one.. pollution concerns for another)

Gore knows Canada well. He'd been up here a lot and he knows the issues. Plus.. he's a moderate type guy (well.. to most of us he is anyhow.. Cdn and US political culture slightly differ on the concept of what a moderate is..)

If I could vote for Al Gore.. I'd be mailing my vote in now ;)

JC,

What do your initials stand for? I like the new word nep...
Did you use it correctly?

PS: I'm not anti-Gore. In fact, due to anti-nepotistic (just checked ... wow, that's really a real word!!) tendencies, I'm slightly less against Gore than I am [against] GWB. Just consider me a neutral who thinks that the electoral democracy has to be beefed up before we can stand a decent chance of electing truly qualified servants.

PS I think Bush has block but its not a good thing!

JC,

anti-nepotistic

Where do you think Al Gore would be without his father being a US Senator? One thing he would not be - Harvard graduate. He could barely keep up in high school.

Unlike Reagan and Clinton who were self made men, both candidates grew up in privileged environment. Gore even more so than Bush, growing up in Washington, son of Senator, rather than Bush west Texas son of a struggling entrepreneur, at least early on.
