Having said that, I am *MUCH* more positive on AMD than I was a month ago(I'm a crappy market timer & have pretty much given up on trying).

Poke around your local computer shops & I think you will be also.

tgptndr,

My questioning of the local screwdrive shop confirms what you are saying. On Thurs. afternoon, I was working and had just heard Intel's preannouncement...which concerned me....and so I turned on my TV to CNBC in order to watch the streamer and see how AMD (and Intel) was doing in after hours. As I was watching I suddenly saw what was happening to other key tech stocks...and it was déja vu from October, 1998, my first market correction after starting to invest in the markets. Suddenly I realized that Intel's preannouncement could tank all the markets.

That's when I sold off stuff. Fortunately, I freaked but did not panic and I managed to sell off the right stuff. So in the end, this has turned out to be a good thing...at least so far.

BTW I, too, am much more positive about AMD than in months. I think we have bottomed and will slowly...very slowly...start to go back up.
